Site Details
Private farm, Coologue, Toomevara, Nenagh, County Tipperary. Anne Marie and Tom of Coologue, Toomevara, Nenagh, County Tipperary are the first farmers in Ireland to participate in the 100 Million Trees project. They picked an area of 8,700 sq. ft (0.2 of an acre) in the corner of a field on their farm, removed the grass and ploughed the area in preparation for the planting. The soil was well turned and made it very easy for the volunteers to plant 2,100 native trees in 2.5 hours. Within a couple of years the trees will be extracting 29 tonnes of carbon a year from the atmosphere.
The following is a list of the 2,100 trees planted at this site.
